Mediation was a process created by the Ancient Greeks. It was practiced by the Babylonians, Phoenicians, and Romans. Mediators were originally referred to as intercessors, conciliators, and interlocutors, among other terms. Reference to Mediation is made in eight different places in the Bible as far back as 900 B.C. (See 1 Samuel 2:25). In fact, Christ is referred to as "the Mediator of a new covenant" in Hebrews 9:15.

In Texas, Mediation was created by statute effective as of June 20, 1987 (See Chapter 154 of the Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code). We have been conducting our Mediation process in accordance with that statute since its creation.
